EA co-founder Trip Hawkins created the 3DO trying to capitalize on the Interactive Media center ideas of the early 90s. While this move was forward thinking for the time, the world was not yet ready for it. Even though it was the most powerful console of 1993, at $700, you had to be a millionaire to own one.
